OfferingHelp, Hope and Healing

By supporting this event, you are helping the Peace Institute keep their doors open, their line clear and their support readily available to the survivors of homicide victims.  Join our team! As an individual partner, community or corporate sponsor.  Come walk! Help us reach our goal of $150.000!

HOW TO BUILD YOUR PEACE WALK TEAM:
Set a goal for the number of walkers you want to recruit and the dollar amount you want your team to raise.
Encourage friends, co-workers, family members, neighbors, board members…to be a part of your team.

Encourage members of your bereavement/self help/spiritual support group to form a team.
Get permission from school principals to start a peace walk team and post the Mothers' Walk for peace poster on bulletin boards, lunchroom, and classroom. Make announcement after the pledge of allegiance or during school assembly.

MORE TEAM BUILDING IDEAS: Form a peace walk committee. The more leaders (co-leaders) the merrier.
Encourage peaceful competition. Offer incentive prize to your top teams fundraisers, such as company merchandise, paid time off of theater/sports tickets.
Encourage peaceful conception between departments or challenge another peace walk team.
Encourage peaceful competition between religious institutions in your area.
Encourage members of your church, parish, or temple to form a Peace Walk team.
Encourage peaceful competitions between bereavements groups.
Plan a pre-walk breakfast, or other group activities for your team at the Mother's walk.
Encourage friends and family to walk in memory of a loved one.
Encourage friends and families to walk in honor of MOM.
Encourage team members to submit design for team banner/poster.

JUST A FEW GOOD REASONS TO WALK FOR PEACE:
VISIBILITY: It a great way to create public awareness for what you are doing in the community and a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together in the name of peace

COST EFFECTIVENESS: Since each team member will be collecting pledges, together you will raise more funds to support the school based peace programs and the survivors Outreach Services.

FULLFILLMENT: By forming a peace walk team, you will feel great knowing you have come together to honor moms, show your support for families and friends who have lost a loved one to violence, and help publicly recommit to work together to protect all of our children.
